Are you an energetic, self-motivated field technician? Gas Track Engineering Ltd. is seeking an experienced field technician to join our team!

In 2019 Gas Track Engineering was incorporated by a team of ambitious and enthusiastic owners looking to help with the ever-increasing need for tracking and reducing fugitive emissions. With years of experience across several industries offering gas leak detection and fugitive emissions management and professional land and construction surveys, we aim to support Canadian firms in attaining a cleaner, healthier environment. We are currently looking for a driven field technician to join our team. As part of the team, you will be responsible for performing surveys of exceptional quality at Gas Track’s clients’ sites and facilities and recording accurate data collection.

The Role

Do you take pride in delivering exceptional quality and service with everything you do? We have an opening for a motivated, focused Field Technician position within Grande Prairie, Alberta. The successful candidate will be responsible for the inspection of oil and gas facilities for unintentional gas leaks using optical gas imaging cameras and other gas detection equipment. When hydrocarbon gas leaks are found the Field Technician is responsible for the proper collection, recording and entry of all required data, which includes a description of the leaking component and the area in the facility.

Qualifications

  • Valid Class 5 Drivers License

  • Clean driver’s abstract

  • Excellent customer service skills

  • 1-2 years of oil and gas experience

  • Computer skills are an asset

  • Safety courses and related oilfield tickets are an asset; Gas Track can work with the right candidate to complete required courses

  • Willingness to train and be in the field for extended period of time.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication and are comfortable communicating face to face, over the phone and in email

  • Participation in our safety program

  • Participation in our training program which includes both field and office training.

Key Responsibilities

  • Strong rapport with clients and ability to work both independently and as a team

  • Collaborate with the Project Manager to implement fieldwork action plans

  • Uphold a positive company image with clients

  • Supplying the management team with reports and safety concerns

  • Utilize the company’s equipment for safe and accurate surveying

  • Accurately log the collection of emissions and inventory data

  • Ability to drive and work for extended periods

  • Preparation for fieldwork and ensuring trucks inventory is maintained for service trips

  • Complete all paperwork and timesheets as required
